Second Official Trailer for Martin Scorsese's Shutter Island

Paramount has debuted a second new trailer for Martin Scorsese's Shutter Island today on Apple. This new version features a few of the same scenes we'd seen in the original trailer plus plenty more we haven't seen yet. It also doesn't spoil any of the twists and turns anymore, thankfully. The only other major change is the release date - from October to February of next year (as we already reported). Despite all that, I still think this looks incredible. It's no B-rate thriller, this looks fantastic, like it could've been one of this year's best. I've got very high hopes for this, Scorsese is brilliant, and I expect nothing less for Shutter Island.

I really, really wish I could've been seeing this movie sometime this month, but damn them for moving it!

Goyer on His Ghost Rider 2 Script Plus a Magneto Update

Last week a new story hit about upcoming Marvel projects, including Daredevil, Silver Surfer, and a Ghost Rider sequel. In that story, it was revealed that Sony had decided to bring on writer/director David Goyer for Ghost Rider 2, since he had written a script 9 years ago for Ghost Rider that they were now going to use for the sequel. Collider recently talked with Goyer and learned that all of that was true and that they're going back to his script and only polishing it to tone it down from R to PG-13. He also gave a brief update on X-Men Origins: Magneto, another Goyer comic book project that's been in the works for a very long time.

Wanna See Some Crazies ?

Overture Films has revealed the trailer for The Crazies , directed by Breck Eisner. Starring Timothy Olyphant, Radha Mitchell, Danielle Panabaker and Joe Anderson, the horror film hits theaters on February 26.

Smit-McPhee, Moretz & Jenkins Cast in Let Me In

Kodi Smit-McPhee, Chloe Moretz and Oscar-nominee Richard Jenkins will headline the cast of Let Me In , Matt Reeves' adaptation of Let the Right One In , when principal photography begins this fall in New Mexico. The announcement was made today by Hammer Films Co-CEO's Simon Oakes and Nigel Sinclair, as well as Overture Films CEO Chris McGurk and COO Danny Rosett.

Director Reeves ( Cloverfield ) has cast Smit-McPhee ( The Road ) and Moretz ( (500) Days of Summer ) in the two lead adolescent roles of Owen and Abby for the eagerly awaited horror feature. Jenkins will play the lead adult character known as Hakan in the original film.

Smit-McPhee & Moretz Set for 'Let Me In' with Richard Jenkins

At least two of the casting rumors were right. THR's Heat Vision blog confirms today that The Road's Kodi Smit-McPhee (seen above) and Kick-Ass' Chloe Moretz have officially been cast in Let Me In, the Let the Right One In remake being directed by Cloverfield director Matt Reeves. Additionally, they announced that Oscar nominated actor Richard Jenkins (last seen in Burn After Reading) has been cast (instead of the rumored Philip Seymour Hoffman) as the vampire girl's father and caretaker known as Hakan in the original film. Shooting begins this fall in New Mexico (even though it's set in Colorado in the actual film).

Overture had been in talks with the rising "kid-actors" over the summer (we first reported a rumor about Smit-McPhee back in July) but was trying to work out the adult component (Jenkins) that best served the triangular combination, with an eye on scheduling and chemistry. Swedish producers ...

Quentin Tarantino Promises Kill Bill Vol. 3 Sometime Soon?

Can we trust Quentin Tarantino again? I mean, last year, at the Cannes Film Festival, he announced on a French talk show that he would be back the next year (as in this year) with Inglourious Basterds, a film which he had been talking about making for 10 years. And, as we all know, that actually happened (believe it or not), and he did show up at Cannes with Inglourious Basterds. Tarantino most recently appeared on an Italian TV show (via BadTaste.it) and made a promise just like that, but this time for Kill Bill Vol. 3. "The Bride will fight again," he revealed. Gina Carano's Knockout Will Be Like Old School James Bond

Although I know not everyone is as big of a fan of Steven Soderbergh as I, he's still a great director that makes solid films. Now that The Informant is out, he's starting prep on a spy thriller called Knockout that will star real life MMA fighter, and hottie, Gina Carano. Empire just talked with Soderbergh and learned that it may be pretty badass, like an old school James Bond flick. He describes Knockout as "a combination of a Bond movie and Point Blank," though, "more on the scale of From Russia With Love than, you know, Quantum Of Solace... Something where the characters and the story are as prominent as the action stuff."
